A dear South African friend of ours, *Barbara, who lived in Hamburg, told us that a gynaecologist working in a State hospital close to Johannesburg found it very heartbreaking to see how many of the babies she welcomed into this world were often discharged home wrapped in newspaper. This doctor appealed to the public to help clothe these newborn babies. *Barbara became proactive and started collecting baby clothing and blankets from friends here in Hamburg to take back with her on her visits to South Africa.

Unfortunately, our friend had to move back to South Africa this year. For us, the question arose as to how we could continue the good work that she started here in Hamburg.

This strongly confirmed our initial idea to found a charitable organisation to help disadvantaged children in South Africa.

Originally, our plan was to export 2^ndnd

Disillusioned, but not demotivated, and knowing that the need still existed, we adapted our initial aim of our charitable organisation.
